Final Year Project

Project Title

No Roofs Left Behind

Description

A large percentage of Pakistani millennials do not have the funding or resources to purchase houses for themselves. This is a brutally honest reality that hounds the lives of most of my peers, friends, and other people of my age. With pricing hikes in the housing industry shooting beyond average levels of extremity, it is truly mindboggling how recent graduates and young professionals are expected to be able to afford their own abodes with average starting salaries not extending beyond Rs. 50,000. This paper sought to study the ways in which laws pertaining to land ownership in Pakistan are premised upon early capitalistic developments in the west during the industrial era. Trying to unravel what the future holds by understanding the past and the present, this essay examines the economic, political, and social conditions that have created such immense financial difficulties for a population fast aged beyond their young years.
